Online Mould Consults
Practical, calm guidance for mould, moisture, remediation, reports and next steps - from a mould inspector.
If you've found mould, you're holding a lab report you can't decode, or you're just lying awake worrying about a house, take a breath. You don't have to work this out alone, and you don't have to become a mould expert overnight. This is a private, one-on-one online consult with an Advanced Mould Inspector and Building Biology practitioner, where I help you figure out what actually matters and what you can let go of.
No sales pitch. No fear-mongering. No throwing your whole life out. Just a calm, honest read on where you stand and what I'd genuinely do next if it were my home.
You deserve a safe, healthy home. And most people don't need a panic, they need a plan.
Online consults are available now, Australia-wide. My on-site inspections are paused until 2027 while I'm on maternity leave, so right now this is the best way to work with me directly.
Who this is for
You've found mould (or suspect a hidden problem) and don't know how serious it is
You have air, tape, or ERMI/HERTSMI results and can't make sense of them
You're reacting in a space and want to understand the source, pathway, reservoir and exposure, not just chase spots on a wall
You're mid-remediation, or a remediator's quote doesn't sit right, and you want an independent read
You're renting, buying, or pregnant/with a young child and want a conservative, careful opinion before you act
How it works
Book your slot. Pick a time that suits. Consults run for 1 hour over Zoom. → Book here
Fill in the optional pre-consult questionnaire. It helps you reflect on your home, habits and exposures, and flags things that are easy to miss. If you complete it, I spend up to 15 minutes reviewing it beforehand at no extra charge. If brain fog makes it feel like too much, skip it, we'll still have a great chat.
Send your context ahead. A short history of your story & the home. I review it before we speak so we don't waste your time on the call.
We work through it together. I walk you through what I'm seeing using the Source, Pathway, Reservoir and Exposure framework, classify the situation (Condition 1 / 2 / 3), and separate what genuinely matters from what doesn't.
You leave with a plan. Clear next steps, what to prioritise, what to ignore, and what (if anything) needs a physical inspection or further testing.
What it costs
$190 (GST included) for a one-hour Zoom consult. A 30-minute follow-up call is available for returning clients. Most people tell me the clarity is worth well beyond the cost. If you’ve got an inspection report for me to review, this will require a longer consult (see options in the link below).
Why work with me
I'm Jess Ward, founder of MouldWise and an Advanced Mould Inspector (ACES, InterNACHI, IAC2) and IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician, currently completing an Advanced Diploma of Building Biology and serving on the committee of the Australasian Society of Building Biologists (ASBB).
I also lived it. I got mould-sick in my own home and went through the whole remediation and recovery process myself before this became my work. So this bridges two things most people can't get in one place: real building science, and someone who actually understands what it's like to be in it, the fear, the overwhelm, the not knowing who to trust.
My framework is grounded in AMG-2026 for building hygiene classification, with ASBB as a conservative health overlay, and I hold a deliberately careful lens for anyone who's CIRS-sensitive, mould-sensitive, pregnant, or has an infant or young child at home.
Note: this is a building science and healthy-home consult, not medical advice. For diagnosis or treatment, I'll always point you to a suitably qualified practitioner.
FAQ
Can you really assess mould without visiting the home? For a lot of situations, yes. With good photos, a floor plan, the home's history, and any lab results, I can identify likely sources and pathways, classify the situation, and tell you what matters. Where a physical inspection genuinely is needed, I'll tell you that directly. I won't upsell you into one you don't need.
Do I need testing before we talk? No. Many people book before testing so they don't waste money on the wrong tests or the wrong inspector.
I'm pregnant / have a baby / react badly to mould. Can you still help? Yes, and I apply a more conservative lens for exactly these situations. We'll err toward caution where it counts.
Do you do advice over DMs? No. Proper advice needs proper context, so it happens in a consult where I can actually see your situation, not in a message thread.
Are you doing on-site inspections? On-site inspections are paused until 2027 while I'm on maternity leave. Online consults are running as normal, Australia-wide.
Where are you based, and do you work Australia-wide? I'm in Sydney, and online consults are available right across Australia, New Zealand and worldwide.
